@ Carlmont HS - 6/10 through 7/20 - M,W,F 7-9am - And Tuesday nights at Woodside HS 6:30-8:30pm.

Future Seasons
Upcoming Fall Season
SMAC is planning on having a 14 and team during the Fall season. The days and times are still being discussed. The team will primarily be coached by Matthew Olujic. Matthew is currently the Frosh/Soph coach at Serra High School, and is also a coach with SMAC year round. Space for this team will be limited so please reach out to inquire about availability, and to reserve a spot.
High School water polo will be in season during the Fall, and so there will be no HS level teams.
Get Registered
We have a very limited number of players per team, and we only have 1 team of each age level. We have one 18's team, one 16's team and are adding a 14's team this coming spring. The maximum number of players per team is 18. So everyone who tries to register may not be able to join the club.
Registration will be handled through the club manager Tim Kates. He will confirm a boys involvement through email with you when the time comes.
Payment
Once the amount for the session has been calculated we will let everyone know. And then payment can be completed by either bringing a check to the pool deck (made out to San Mateo Aquatics Club) during the first week of the session, Or by using Zelle (tkates@serrahs.com). Each session’s payment amount may vary, and you will be told the amount as we get closer to the season.
Coaches
Tim Kates - Tim is the manager of the club, and is the head coach of the 18 and under team. He is currently the head water polo coach of serra high school. He majored in sociology, and played water polo at UC Berkeley. He has been coaching water polo since he graduated from UCB in 2004.
Steven Olujic - Steven Olujic graduated from Serra High School in 2013, where he was an All-American and set school records for career and single season saves. After high school he graduated from UC Berkeley and currently works at Serra as Retreat Coordinator. Steven has several years of coaching experience with Serra's JV and Frosh/Soph teams.
Matthew Olujic - Matthew is the assistant coach at Junipero Serra High School, where he played water polo from 2012 until his graduation in 2016. Along with playing at alma mater, he trained with Golden State Water Polo in San Mateo and VK Jadran Split youth teams in Croatia. Matthew is a local from San Mateo. In his free time, he enjoys watching soccer, weightlifting, and spending time with family and friends.
James Mirt - James will primarily work as an assistant coach for the 18's team. James played for Golden State (A former Serra club team) for a number of years. At Serra, he played water polo and swam all four years. He won the defensive blanket award his senior year at Serra. He went to Austin College and played for four years for Mark Lawrence.
Talking Smac
Established in April 2023, SMAC is a water polo club dedicated to providing a safe and fun environment for those involved to thrive. We strive to be the best we can be at water polo while also ensuring a supportive and friendly atmosphere for players to enjoy thier time in the sport.
